Job Title: Product Specialist

Job Summary

Our client, located in Stamford, is looking for a Product Specialist to join their growing team.This person will contribute to our document control and configuration management efforts across all departmental projects and systems. The successful candidate will oversee all Configuration Management (CM) activities, leading engineering and production initiatives related to Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Bill of Materials (BOMs), and the Item Master library. Additionally, the candidate will play a pivotal role in the implementation of our new Product Configuration Management software.


  • Maintain the ERP and Product Configuration database, ensuring the accuracy of item masters, product structures, and bills of materials.
  • Manage the ECO process and collaborate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure the seamless execution of required activities.
  • Establish policies and best practices for Configuration/Data Management.
  • Develop work breakdown structures.
  • Implement and maintain the new Product Configuration Management software.
  • Provide training on Configuration Management processes to other team members.
  • Analyze proposed changes to product design and assess their impact on overall products and systems.
  • Assist production with Cost Estimation tools and procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure project documentation aligns with quality and change management protocols, facilitating the organized archiving of project information.
  • Coordinate communication between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management to ensure comprehensive documentation of appropriate changes.
  • Create training materials for departmental and non-departmental employees.
  • Assist in finalizing drawings as per revisions indicated by Project Managers and Engineers.

Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):

  • AutoCAD.
  • Autodesk Inventor.
  • Autodesk Vault or Similar Software.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning Software.
  • Microsoft Office.

Education and Work Experience:

  • A 4-year Bachelor of Science degree and 5 years of relevant work experience OR
  • A 2-year Associates degree and 10 years of relevant work experience.
