Our client, a very large and growing provider of services to the public is expanding their HR team. This dynamic HR department needs a brand-new Director of Benefits, HR and Compliance. The culture of this group is very fast paced, dynamic and is proving to be performing an incredible job of keeping up with the variety of planned mergers and acquisitions scheduled for this year. You will oversee directing the strategy, administration and compliance of health and wellness benefit policies, programs and processes. Client requires your presence in the office 2-3 days a week, offering a salary commensurate with experience; up to 150K plus a target bonus.
Oversee and set the strategy, design, and benefit administrative processes to oversee all health and wellness programs – Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, Disability and Leave, Life, Accidental, Employee Assistance Programs.
Oversee annual open enrollment process and associated project planning and management.
Work closely with HRIS to ensure plan setup, updates and changes are configured, tested and accurately set up.
Research, recommend, and implement new benefits programs; Examine possible plan designs and benefits cost changes; Serve as primary contact for Benefits Broker, plan vendors and third-party administrators.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of related Benefits Law to ensure compliance requirements related to federal, state and local regulations of benefit plans.
With broker, plan, prepare, run reports to be filed for all benefit plan compliance reports and filing.
Perform comprehensive ongoing data analysis and evaluations related to all aspects of Benefits Administration; Compile monthly, semi-monthly and ad hoc reports, as needed.
Recommend new approaches to effect continual improvements in efficiency of HR department, process automation, and service delivery.
A minimum of eight years’ experience in Benefit design and administration to include, Benefit plan annual planning, billing, employee deductions, compliance, auditing and proficient use of related HRIS reporting systems.
Candidates should be experienced managing either self-insured and fully insured plans.
Must have experience with union-free as well as union benefit plans to understand the overlaps and interdependencies of union-free and multiple, union plan benefit features.
Adept at pulling together analysis and financials of benefit plans with ability to prepare or translate broker provided reports.
Demonstrated knowledge of Ceridian or similar HRIS system, including report writing and dashboards.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel to prepare, merge, or update related reports and dashboards.
Proficient preparing presentations in PowerPoint preferred.
Demonstrated ability establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, and vendors.
Negotiations skills experience essential.
