Introduction

Our client, in lower Fairfield County, CT has us searching for a Manager of Environmental, Social, and Governance.  $95K-$115K + Bonus + Benefits.  This company is experiencing exceptional quarterly earnings year after year. This is a highly visible role and one that is so very important to the organization.  This is a very unique role for a true analytical professional who has a slight blend of Accounting and an Environmental background. 

Responsibilities


-Active participation in tracking the company's greenhouse gas inventory, including periodically reviewing data submitted by each of their 100 operating subsidiaries for completeness and accuracy, and establishing internal control procedures relevant to the accurate reporting of scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions


-Conduct robust analysis and assist in the development of innovative solutions for a range of climate challenges


-Assist with the preparation of annual ESG/sustainability reports and other external reports established in frameworks and initiatives adopted by the company


-Act as liaison between the corporate office, operating subsidiaries, and national purchasing group to obtain data needed on an ad hoc basis


-Work closely with accounting and financial reporting team to ensure compliance with proposed SEC climate change disclosures

Ideal Candidate Must Have

Strong analytical skills, including use of Microsoft Excel, and attention to detail


-5 + years: proven experience in climate or sustainability fields


-CPA preferred/desired


-Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting concepts


-Familiarity with disclosure requirements of TCFD and GhG Protocol, as well as calculation methodology for Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions and experience with platforms such as MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS, and EcoVadis


-Basic understanding of internal controls preferred
